Hi, I’m Adrian Arksey, founder of Restart. I’ve been helping homes and small businesses with their technology since 2004, although my fascination with computers began in 1979 when, aged nine, I first switched on an Apple II.

The idea for the business came to me while on holiday in Skiathos. Friends, family and colleagues were regularly asking me for computer help, but friendly local support wasn’t always easy to find. I realised I could turn something I loved into a service that people genuinely needed.

Originally called Your PC’s Best Friend, the business became Restart in 2020 to reflect the much broader range of technology now found in our homes and workplaces.

More than twenty years later, my aim remains the same: to make technology less frustrating and help people feel more confident using it.

Restart’s Adrian recently helped me rationalise all my aged computers / laptops/ iPods and helped me to move into the 21st century. Adrian was extremely friendly and informative and gave good advice. Also able to clean old systems ready for parts to be reused by a charity he is connected to, and dispose of most obsolete and unwanted computers and accessories. Prices seemed very reasonable.
